Draft Long-Range Management Plan
Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department
Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation
The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources (ANR), Rutland District Stewardship Team is sponsoring an open house for the public to view and discuss the results of the natural resource inventories and assessments that have recently been completed on the Wildlife Management Area in preparation of the development of the long range management plan.
Tinmouth Channel Wildlife Management Area is located in the Taconic Mountains in the northeast portion of the Town of Tinmouth in Rutland County. The WMA consists of upland forests and wetlands and is dominated by a Class I wetland, 1 of 3 in Vermont.
This meeting will provide an opportunity to review the results of this initial work, ask questions, and talk with foresters, wildlife biologists, and ecologists from ANR about specific aspects of the project. A short presentation will open the meeting, followed by a discussion with comments recorded by staff.
General information about these lands is available at www.vtfishandwildlife.com/wma_maps.cfm
In addition to commenting at the meeting, comments will be accepted via email or by mail to the address listed below. The initial public comment period will extend 30 days beyond the public involvement meeting. Letters, comments, and questions should be directed to:
