Recreation Trails Program Grant Workshop
Monday, November 19, 2007 6PM - 8PM via Interactive Television
Come join us and learn how to submit a trail grant application! The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation (FPR) will be using Vermont Interactive Television (VIT) to hold a grant workshop for the Recreation Trails Program on Monday, November 19, 2007 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. This is an invaluable opportunity for municipal entities and non-profit organizations to learn how to bring funds for recreation trails to their communities. Come and increase your awareness of the Recreation Trails Program and learn of the many benefits it has to offer.
We feel it is important to provide additional assistance to help you with the application process. Our Recreation Trails Program grant writing workshop will take interested applicants through all aspects of the program including applicant eligibility, project & cost eligibility, and the grant application approval process. We also ensure there is time for individual questions.
The workshop is free and open to everyone. Applicants who attend this workshop will learn tips on how to submit a successful application. It is particularly important to attend this workshop because it will provide an overview of the changes made to the grant application criteria. The 14 VIT locations hosting the workshop are: Bennington, Brattleboro, Castleton, Johnson, Lyndon, Middlebury, Montpelier, Newport, Randolph, Springfield, St Albans, Waterbury, White River Junction, and Williston.
Please call our office at 802/241-3690 and sign up for one of these locations by noon time, Friday November 16th!
The Recreation Trails Program is administered by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration. Since its inception, Vermont's Recreation Trails Grant Program has provided over 150 Vermont communities with more than $5 million dollars towards the construction of new trails, maintenance and restoration of existing trails, construction of trailside and trailhead facilities, educational programs, and land acquisition for the protection of trail corridors.
Grant applications and guidelines are available on our web site! Fore more information contact Sherry Smecker Winnie, Recreation Trails Program Administrator at 802/241-3690.
