About the Program

The goal of the Watershed Forestry Program is to emphasize the contribution that healthy forests and sustainable forestry practices provide to water quality. The program provides education, outreach and technical assistance to Vermont forest landowners, loggers, and forestry professionals. The program also administers the Acceptable Management Practices for Maintaining Water Quality on Log Jobs (AMP’s) and Vermont’s “Heavy Cutting Law.”
