About the Program

The goal of the Watershed Forestry Program is to emphasize the contribution that healthy and sustainable forests provide to water quality. The program provides education, outreach and technical assistance to Vermont forest landowners, loggers, forestry professionals and the general public. The program also administers the Acceptable Management Practices for Maintaining Water Quality on Log Jobs (AMP’s) and Vermont’s “Heavy Cutting Law.”
